Police Confirm Man Who Fell from Third Floor of South Jakarta Mall Died; Suspected Suicide

A man fell from the third floor of a shopping mall in the Pondok Indah area of South Jakarta. The victim died at the scene.

‘Yes, the victim has died,’ Kebayoran Lama Police Chief Police Commissioner Muhammad Kukuh Islami told reporters on Sunday, 8 March 2026.

The victim is suspected of suicide. Kukuh said the victim jumped from the mall’s third floor.

‘Yes, indeed the victim committed suicide by jumping from the third floor,’ he added.

According to photos circulating on social media, mall staff or security personnel evacuated the victim. A stretcher was seen at the scene.

Reportedly, a man fell in what is believed to be a suicide. The victim died at the crime scene. The incident occurred on Sunday (8 March) at 13:00 WIB.
