Police Confirm Firearm Status in Case of Company Boss Found Dead in South Jakarta Hotel

Police have confirmed that the firearm found at the scene where a man, believed to be a company executive with the initials WH (47), was found dead in a hotel in the Kuningan area of South Jakarta, is legal. Head of Public Relations for the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Joko Adi Wibowo, stated that officers have discovered documents related to the firearm’s ownership. He said the documents correspond with the victim’s identity. “After checking, this weapon is indeed a legal firearm; the individual possessed a firearm,” Joko told reporters on Tuesday (21/7). Joko also mentioned the results of fingerprint examinations conducted on the firearm. He stated that the fingerprints found were identical to the victim’s. “The fingerprints on the weapon found at the scene were compared with the victim’s fingerprints and they are identical. This means the person who handled the firearm was the victim,” he said. Previously, Joko had conveyed that investigators had not yet found any involvement of other parties in the death of the man, believed to be a company executive with the initials WH (47). “Based on the results of the police investigation, to date we have not found any involvement of other parties regarding the victim’s death,” he stated on Monday (20/7). WH was found dead in a hotel in the Kuningan area of South Jakarta on Wednesday (15/7) evening. Upon discovery, police also found a firearm on the balcony of the hotel room occupied by the victim. Joko said the victim was known to be staying at the hotel and was accompanied by a witness before being found dead. “This gentleman was staying at the hotel. He was accompanied by a witness at the hotel. Upon checking, it turned out he had passed away,” Joko said on Friday (17/7). Based on preliminary investigation results, police revealed the victim was facing domestic issues with his wife. However, communication between the two was reportedly improving and they had planned to mend their relationship.
