Police conduct urine test on reckless driver in Central Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police conducted a urine test on a driver with the initials HM (24) who was driving recklessly and against traffic in the Gunung Sahari area of Central Jakarta, but the result was negative.
“For now, the result of the urine test we conducted was negative,” said the Director of Traffic at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Kombes Pol Komarudin, in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
During the incident, he said, the driver was not alone but had a female passenger with him, and they immediately conducted a search.
“In the car used by the driver, four pairs of different vehicle registration plates were found. In addition, a toy gun and two bladed weapons, a machete and a dagger, were also found,” he said.
Komarudin added that the driver was charged with Article 311 of Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ), paragraph 1, for intentionally driving a motor vehicle in a manner or condition that endangers life or property.
“Furthermore, we will hand it over to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jakarta Central Police for further investigation,” said Komarudin.

The Director of Traffic at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Kombes Pol Komarudin, explained that the vehicle was initially coming from the south or from Senen heading towards Pasar Baru.
“At the time of the incident, our officers who were on patrol found the driver behaving unusually in the middle of the capital’s congestion in the afternoon,” he said.
“The officers followed the vehicle and it made a U-turn in front of the Indonesian Navy Headquarters, then turned and entered Jalan Gunung Sahari 4,” he said.
