Police Complete Case File for High School Student Rape Case, Await Piche Kota's Recovery
The Belu Regional Police in Nusa Tenggara Timur (East Nusa Tenggara) are currently completing the first-stage case file for a rape case involving a 16-year-old high school student with initials ACT allegedly committed by Indonesian Idol singer Petrus Yohannes Debrito Armando Jaga Kota, known as Piche Kota, along with Roy Mali and Rifal Sila, for submission to the Belu State Prosecutor’s Office.
Currently, Roy Mali and Rifal Sila have been named as suspects and are being detained at the Belu Regional Police headquarters. Meanwhile, Piche, whilst designated as a suspect, remains undetained as he is still undergoing medical treatment.
“We are currently completing the first-stage case file to send it promptly to the Belu Prosecutor’s Office,” said Belu Regional Police Chief AKBP Gede Astawa to detikBali on Monday (2 March 2026).
Gede explained that the Belu Regional Police’s next course of action is currently awaiting developments in Piche Kota’s health condition, who is receiving treatment for vertigo at RSUD Gabriel Manek Atambua hospital. Nevertheless, the Belu Regional Police called upon the public to remain calm and to entrust the case handling process to the police.
“We invite the public to support law enforcement together and protect children from all forms of violence. The National Police are present to provide security and justice for victims,” Gede explained.
According to Gede, the Belu Regional Police are ensuring that all stages of the legal process are conducted accountably and in accordance with procedures to achieve justice for the victim and legal certainty for all parties involved.
“Of course, we will not tolerate any form of crime against children and will ensure the legal process proceeds in accordance with applicable legislation,” Gede concluded.
Previously reported, Indonesian Idol alumnus singer Petrus Yohannes Debrito Armando Jaga Kota, known as Piche, continues to receive intensive treatment at RSUD Gabriel Manek Atambua hospital in Belu District for vertigo. Nevertheless, Piche remains under police surveillance. He was previously arrested on Saturday (28 February 2026).
“Still receiving treatment for vertigo. Today we checked again at the hospital,” said Belu Regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Rachmat Hidayat to detikBali on Monday (2 March 2026).
