Police Commissioner Suyudi Ario Seto underwent a fit and proper test as a candidate for the National Police Chief (Kapolri) at Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR). Suyudi arrived at the DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, accompanied by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

Observations at the location on Thursday (1/10/2026) showed Suyudi arriving at the Commission III meeting room wearing his full National Police uniform. He walked behind Dasco and was seen shaking hands with the leadership and members of Commission III before taking his assigned seat.

The fit and proper test was presided over by the Chairman of Commission III, Habiburokhman, and attended by various members of the commission. Habiburokhman opened the proceedings, after which Commissioner Suyudi was invited to present his vision and mission.

Suyudi currently serves as the Head of the National Narcotics Board (BNN). His name was submitted by President Prabowo Subianto as the candidate for National Police Chief to replace General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

“This morning, the House leadership received a letter from the President, Number R57/Pres/09/2026, dated 30 September 2026, regarding the proposal for dismissal from the position of National Police Chief and appointment to the position of National Police Chief,” said Habib.

Habib stated that Commission III of the DPR had been tasked with conducting the fit and proper test. He confirmed that Commissioner Suyudi Ario Seto would be undergoing the evaluation process.

“Following the meeting of the DPR Consultative Body held yesterday, 30 September, Commission III has been tasked with conducting the suitability test for Commissioner Suyudi Ario Seto as the National Police Chief,” he added.
