Police Commissioner Bayu Febrianto Prayoga Earns Doctorate in Police Science at STIK-PTIK
The doctoral promotion session was held solemnly at the Police Science Institute (STIK)-PTIK building in South Jakarta. Commissioner Bayu has attained the highest academic degree after successfully defending his strategic dissertation before the board of examiners.
The success of Commissioner Bayu Febrianto Prayoga serves as tangible evidence of the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) commitment to developing superior, critical-thinking, and science-based human resources. Through in-depth research addressing contemporary security dynamics, the doctoral graduate is expected to provide significant contributions to institutional transformation, strengthen policing preventive functions, and enhance professional service within the police force.
On the same occasion, the Chairman of STIK Lemdiklat Polri, Inspector General Eko Rudi Sudarto, expressed high appreciation for the academic achievement of Commissioner Bayu Febamin Prayoga. Inspector General Eko emphasised that the doctoral degree is not merely for academic prestige, but represents a great responsibility to apply the best possible service to the public.
“Congratulations to Commissioner Bayu Febrianto Prayoga on his graduation and the attainment of his doctoral degree in police science. The Polri institution currently requires strategic thinkers from the younger generation, such as the 2009 Police Academy alumni, who are capable of marrying academic theories with tactical realities on the ground. We hope that the ideas presented in this dissertation can be applied to support change management, bureaucratic reform, and to address the increasingly complex, adaptive, and humanistic challenges of modern policing,” the Inspector General stated in a release following the graduation ceremony.
The Doctoral Programme in Police Science at STIK-PTIK is known as a platform for developing the Indonesian National Police’s think tank. Its curriculum is comprehensively designed to produce officers who are not only proficient in maintaining public order and security (Kamtibmas) but also possess strategic leadership capacities based on broad insights and scientific data.
Through this graduation, Lemdiklat Polri reaffirms the importance of a lifelong learning culture for all police personnel. The increase in educational strata at the doctoral level is expected to motivate other officers to continuously develop their academic potential to face future global social and community dynamics.
