Police Collect Evidence from Alleged Confinement and Torture Scene of YTR

The mystery behind the alleged confinement and torture experienced by YTR (29) is slowly beginning to unravel. Police searching a boarding house room in the Cileunyi area, Bandung Regency, where the victim was allegedly held captive for three years, removed a number of items believed to be connected to the case.

Several items were seen being secured by officers following the crime scene investigation conducted on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. These included a helmet, clothing, a bag, and other items wrapped in large clear plastic bags and a suitcase.

The crime scene investigation process took quite a long time and drew the attention of local residents. Inafis officers were seen going in and out of the location before finally carrying a number of pieces of evidence to a police vehicle parked in the boarding house area.

Ahmad Solihin, head of RT 1 RW 7 in Kampung Cijambe, said the crime scene investigation lasted more than two hours. “From 12 o’clock until just now, half past 2,” he said on Tuesday, 23 June 2026.

According to Solihin, he saw officers securing several items from the room previously occupied by the victim and the suspected perpetrator. “There was evidence taken like a helmet, things like that. They were already wrapped up,” he said.

However, it is not yet known exactly who owns the items secured by the police or their connection to the alleged confinement and abuse being investigated. The evidence will now form part of the investigators’ deeper probe to uncover what really happened behind the door of the boarding house room, which is suspected to have been the site of the victim’s torture.

It is known that a woman from Rancaekek, Bandung Regency, West Java, is suspected to be the victim of a confinement and abuse case by her boyfriend. The woman, with the initials YTR, was allegedly held captive by the suspect, with the initials Taufik Hidayat, in a boarding house room and was reported missing by her family for three years.

After the victim had introduced her boyfriend to her parents, the family lost contact with YTR for years. YTR was eventually found in critical condition with severe injuries resulting from the alleged confinement and abuse. The confinement is suspected to have occurred in a boarding house room rented by Taufik Hidayat in the Bandung Regency area.
