Police Collaborate with TNI on Findings in Acid Attack Case Against KontraS Activist Andrie Yunus

Police have revealed the initials of two executors in the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus as BHC and MAK. Police will collaborate the findings with the TNI, which announced that four soldiers are suspected of being involved in the acid attack.

“Of course, we from Polda Metro Jaya, and later together with the TNI, will collaborate the findings from the facts of the investigation and prosecution,” said Dirreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Iman Imannudin at Mapolda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

Iman stated that Polri and TNI are committed to uncovering this case. According to him, this commitment aligns with the directives and orders of President Prabowo Subianto.

“We are confident that we all share the commitment to uncover this case as clearly as possible. So we all have the commitment, both TNI and Polri, in line with the instructions from Mr President to uncover this case transparently, based on legal facts obtained from the investigation and prosecution processes conducted by each,” he said.

Four TNI Soldiers Detained

Previously, Puspom TNI detained four TNI members suspected of carrying out the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. Puspom TNI has also examined the perpetrators.

“Conducting police report activities, possibly later from the victim witness. Then carrying out temporary detention of the four suspects,” said Danpuspom TNI Mayjen TNI Yusri Nuryanto during a press conference at Mabes TNI, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

Puspom TNI will also submit a visum request to RSCM. “We will submit a visum et repertum request to RSCM,” he continued.

The suspects have now been secured and are undergoing examination. They will be detained at Pomdam Jaya.

“The suspects have been secured and we have conducted examinations at Puspom TNI. For the detention location, we will carry out detention entrusted to Pomdam Jaya, where there is super security maximum detention,” he said.

The four perpetrators are initialled NDP, SL, BWH, and ES. Puspom TNI is currently delving into the motive for the acid attack carried out by the perpetrators on Andrie Yunus.

“The article applied to the four suspected perpetrators is temporarily Article 467 of the Criminal Code, with paragraphs 1 and 2, where the penalty threats are already stated there, some 4 years, 7 years,” explained Yusri.
