Jakarta, VIVA – The handling of the alleged rape case reported by content creator Cinta Ruhama Amelz, also known as Tara, is now fully in the hands of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation, specifically the Women and Children Protection and Human Trafficking Division (Ditres PPA-PPO) of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police confirmed that the legal process is still in the investigation stage. The investigators are currently focusing on deepening witness testimonies, tracing the location of the incident, and collecting relevant evidence.

“Initially, the case was handled by the Sub-Directorate of Violent and Property Crimes within the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation, but it has now been transferred to the PPA/PPO Directorate. Currently, the case is still under investigation, with efforts focused on examining the crime scene, interviewing witnesses, and collecting evidence,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Police Commissioner Budi Hermanto, on Tuesday, 24 February 2026.

However, the police acknowledged that investigating this case is not easy. The alleged crime is said to have occurred in 2017, almost nine years ago. This makes several technical aspects challenging.

“The obstacles for investigators are that the management of the crime scene has changed, the CCTV is no longer functional because the alleged incident occurred in 2017, and there is very little information from witnesses who can recall the incident due to it happening in 2017,” he said.

In addition to the time factor, the examination process was also reportedly hampered because the complainant failed to attend several summonses from the investigators.

“The complainant was summoned several times but did not attend, delaying the examination,” said Budi.

This case came to light after Tara revealed her experience on social media. She reported a man named Rendy Brahmantyo, also known as Embo, who is said to work at PT Delahuose Investindo Indonesia.

Through her Instagram account @cintaruhamaamelz, Tara stated that she had officially reported the incident to the police and was being assisted by her legal counsel.

“I have reported Rendy Brahmantyo, or Embo, to the police for the act of rape against me. I am currently being assisted by my legal counsel,” Tara wrote.

She also accused there being attempts to distort the facts related to the case.

“He is also suspected of spreading narratives to distort the truth and conceal what actually happened,” she said.
