Palembang – The Chief of South Sumatra Police, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, formally inaugurated the Pre-Operation Training (Latpraops) for Ketupat Musi 2026 on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

The event, held in the 7th floor auditorium of South Sumatra Police Headquarters, aimed to ensure personnel readiness ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri celebrations.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief of South Sumatra Police, Brigadier General Rony Samtana, the Inspector for South Sumatra Police, Senior Commissioner Feri Handoko Soenarso, principal officials of South Sumatra Police headquarters, and all personnel involved in the 2026 Ketupat Musi Operation structure.

In his address, Inspector General Sandi emphasised that the Ketupat Musi operation is not merely an annual routine, but a strategic humanitarian duty. Sandi stressed that each officer must possess proper operational readiness to guarantee public safety and smooth activities during the holy month of Ramadan through Eid al-Fitr.

“The national tagline ‘Safe Homecoming, Happy Family’ must become the spirit of the 2026 Ketupat Musi Operation. Therefore, the presence of the National Police must be able to provide a sense of safety, comfort, and the best service to the public,” Sandi stated in his address.

Furthermore, Sandi instructed all ranks to prioritise professionalism and humanitarian values in their duties. He argued that the success of this operation should not only be measured by declining crime figures, but also by the positive perception of the public towards police services.

“The success of this operation should not only be measured by the maintenance of security and public order, but also by the extent to which the National Police can be present as a protector, guardian, and professional public servant who is responsive and trusted by the public,” the two-star general emphasised.

The former Public Relations Division Chief of the National Police also urged all personnel to maintain the integrity and prestige of the institution whilst carrying out duties in the field. He called on members to work with the principles of “Smart, Thorough, and Sincere” for the sake of national interest.

“Demonstrate that we are Bhayangkara officers who work hard, smart, thoroughly, and sincerely. Sincere in serving the public for the sake of our nation and country,” he concluded.

With the commencement of this pre-operation training, it is hoped that all personnel will have a shared understanding of operational procedures and coordination in the field, so that the targets of “Comfortable Homecoming Together” and “Comfortable Eid Together” in South Sumatra can be fully realised.
