JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has reminded all his ranks to be vigilant against the potential for bad weather during the Eid al-Fitr return flow in 2026, especially in eastern Indonesia and crossing points.

The instruction was delivered by Sigit after inspecting the tourist centre and return flow preparedness at the ITDC Command Centre, Nusa Dua, Bali, on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

“We ask all members to truly prepare themselves to face it if there is bad weather, especially in crossing areas,” said Sigit in his statement on Tuesday.

On the other hand, mitigation steps are deemed capable of preventing disruptions that could endanger the public.

“Engineering and regulation can also be better to avoid unwanted things due to extreme weather,” Sigit added.

He stated that the peak return flow is estimated to occur on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

However, public movement is predicted to be more dispersed until Friday (27/3/2026) in line with the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy.

“This can also be an option for the public so that not everyone chooses to return today, thus it can also ease the peak return flow estimated to occur today,” he said.

According to him, this condition needs to be a serious concern for field officers, especially in preparing security and service measures.

“Of course, this becomes our emphasis so that until the return flow series is completed, these figures can be maintained,” Sigit stated.
