Tangerang Regency (ANTARA) - The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri), General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has urged workers and entrepreneurs across the country to join in maintaining a conducive investment climate amid global geopolitical dynamics.

“We agree that Indonesia must be able to face this global geopolitical situation. One of them is for fellow workers and fellow entrepreneurs to be able to exist, and one way is how we strive to realise a conducive investment climate,” said Kapolri Sigit while attending the Workers’ Halalbihalal event in Tangerang on Tuesday.

He stated that Indonesia has agreed together to maintain a conducive atmosphere to avoid an economic crisis situation that would also impact the domestic situation.

Therefore, he said, if workers and industrial entrepreneurs contribute to maintaining a conducive climate, good investments will be created for domestic economic growth.

“And I think Indonesia has extraordinary natural resources, we have a sufficiently large human resource, and we are ready to compete with other countries in terms of investment,” he said.

“And we show the world that Indonesia is capable of resolving industrial matters and industrial dispute relations well without situations that would escalate,” he added.

He believes that Indonesian workers and entrepreneurs can discuss or exchange ideas in creating a healthy investment circulation through jointly agreed regulatory frameworks.

“And we also encourage fellow workers and entrepreneurs to deliberate on compiling and revising the Job Creation Law (Omnibus Law) going forward, so that a joint agreement is reached which can then be made into a norm. The Job Creation Law will then be revised,” he said.

On that occasion, the Police Chief also invited that the commemoration of Labour Day or May Day be made a symbol of struggle that Indonesia can pass through all crisis situations, so that investment space in the eyes of the world is safe and wide open.
