Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo urged all elements of society in West Java to continue backing and safeguarding the government’s various programmes. Sigit stressed that harmony among ulama, umara, and the people is the key to facing global challenges that are increasingly complex.

He said this at the Ramadan Silaturahmi event at the West Java Regional Police Headquarters on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. He called on all elements of society to work together to back the government’s programmes.

‘There is a need for unity and solidarity among everyone—the officials, the umara, the people, the ulama who always remind us,’ General Sigit said in his address.

The Police Chief noted that the global situation is not good and presents a challenge for Indonesia. However, he said, the government is working to ensure that the impact of the current global conditions is not too large for Indonesia.

‘If we look at how he (President Prabowo Subianto) summoned the nation’s elite figures a few days ago, and going forward he will certainly do the same, where he wants to listen to inputs and hear directly the opinions of the people, from the elites, so that together we can mitigate the global situation,’ he said.

Furthermore, General Sigit stated that Indonesia’s economy remains in fairly good condition. He assured that the government will maintain that good state so that the impacts of these global conditions do not become a social problem at home.

‘We see that Indonesia’s condition, alhamdulillah, economic growth is still quite good. Nevertheless, given the current conditions, we must also be prepared and ready to do what we can, and all of this can happen if we all unite to face one common enemy,’ he said.

The Police Chief emphasised that President Prabowo will strive to protect and safeguard the nation. He urged the public to remain united in facing the global situation.

‘Therefore in these situations we need togetherness; we will keep it up and increase it,’ he stated.
