Police Chief urges returnees to ensure safety during Eid homecoming flow
Semarang (ANTARA) - Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has urged Eid returnees to maintain their safety and security during the return journey of the 2026 Lebaran homecoming flow. He also advised returnees to utilise rest facilities prepared by the government if they feel fatigued on the road. “Utilise all facilities provided by the government, whether at rest areas, service posts, or integrated posts, so that those who are tired can rest and should not force themselves,” he said at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate (GT), Semarang, Central Java, on Tuesday. Furthermore, the leader of the Bhayangkara Corps also urged the public to take advantage of work from anywhere (WFA) to disperse the peak return flow on Tuesday. “So, if there are people who want to choose to return home, they can utilise 25, 26, and 27 March. I have already conveyed this earlier, and I am conveying it again so that the peak homecoming flow can be dispersed,” he said. On Tuesday, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, along with Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, and Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, opened the one-way return flow for Lebaran 2026 starting from GT Kalikangkung. The Police Chief stated that the one-way system is implemented from KM 414 at Semarang’s Kalikangkung Toll Gate to KM 70 at Cikampek Utama Toll Gate. After GT Cikampek Utama, he continued, traffic engineering will be carried out to prevent congestion towards Jakarta.
