Jakarta – The Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho accompanied National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo at a Ramadan safari programme held at the East Java Police headquarters on Saturday, 14 March 2026. The event was attended by representatives from all segments of society.

The Police Chief’s arrival was welcomed with traditional musical performances by local police personnel, followed by Quranic recitation by Police Officer Bripda Maulana Ilyas.

On this occasion, the Police Chief called upon all elements of society to unite in facing future global challenges. With such unity, he asserted, every problem can be resolved in service of achieving national cohesion and solidarity.

“Moving forward, we must remain prepared for circumstances we cannot predict. The key to all of this is that Indonesia, with the diversity we possess, represents a force for unity,” Sigit stated.

Additionally, Sigit urged all parties to support the success of this year’s major Lebaran homecoming exodus. He emphasised the importance of providing humanistic service and prioritising road safety.

“We are currently implementing Operation Ketupat 2026, which represents our service to the community, and we urge the public to exercise genuine caution on the roads,” Sigit said.

“The National Police, together with other stakeholders, are coordinating and collaborating to serve returning migrants. If people are planning to travel home, the Police Chief also welcomes members of the public to leave their homes and vehicles at the nearest police station. This is how we fulfil our commitment to public service,” he added.

Echoing the Police Chief’s sentiments, the Head of the Traffic Corps emphasised that homecoming is not merely an annual tradition, but a moment to return and reconnect with one’s hometown.

Therefore, the state is present to guarantee safety for returning migrants during their journey home and back from their hometowns.

“Travelling home and returning is a journey of longing – longing for one’s hometown and longing for family. It is not just about the state’s presence in the field, but ensuring that the state and police stakeholders assure the public that those embarking on this journey must be safe during travel, comfortable throughout their journey, arrive safely at their destination, and be happy when reunited with their families,” he continued.

As additional information, the Ramadan safari programme also included a symbolic presentation of gift packages from the Police Chief to orphaned children. The event concluded with moral guidance and closing prayers led by KH. Manshur, the principal supervisor of Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Kediri.
