Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri), General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has stressed the need for synergy among all parties to maintain public security and order (kamtibmas) stability amid current challenges, crimes, and the impact of the global situation.

Sigit is convinced that Indonesia, with the spirit of unity and oneness among all elements of the nation, will be able to face all forms of existing challenges.

“If we all have the same spirit, have a sense of unity and oneness amid differences that are indeed a gift for the Indonesian nation,” said Sigit in his statement received in Jakarta on Sunday.

This message was conveyed by Sigit while attending and opening the XIV Congress of the Islamic Union Youth (PERSIS) in Bandung Regency, West Java.

The four-star general emphasised the importance of maintaining stability and enhancing synergy among all elements of the nation in safeguarding and creating kamtibmas stability.

Especially in the current technological developments, he said, which are sometimes exploited by criminals. Among them is the proliferation of misleading misinformation that misleads the public.

“Not to mention other crimes that harm citizens such as narcotics, cybercrime, and sexual offences,” he stated.

The former Head of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency mentioned that to face all forms of these challenges and crimes, synergy and support from all elements of the Indonesian nation are needed.

At the event, Sigit hoped that PERSIS, with all its strength and cadres, could collaborate with the National Police.

“Because we realise that the National Police cannot stand alone. The National Police cannot work alone without support from all elements of the nation,” he explained.

Sigit affirmed that the National Police and PERSIS will continue to enhance synergy and solidarity in the future to maintain kamtibmas stability in facing all forms of emerging challenges.

“Of course, I hope that in the future, the collaborative friendship and familial bond between the National Police and PERSIS will continue to strengthen and grow even better, and we are confident that together we will face the various national challenges we face so that we can carry out the national mandate,” he said.

Sigit also conveyed efforts by President Prabowo Subianto in facing the global situation that remains full of uncertainties impacting all countries, including Indonesia.

He stated that the government is striving to take the best steps by launching several programmes for the good of the Indonesian nation.

Therefore, he invited all elements of society to unite with the government in facing all forms of global challenges entering the country.

“So this is a challenge that we must face together, and of course, this is also a task and ‘homework’ for the youth in particular who will face things like this and how we can exist, contribute, and have the spirit to together safeguard and face the existing situation,” he said.

Indonesia, according to Sigit, once fought together to expel colonialism. The fighters at that time prioritised maintaining and defending the values of unity and oneness.

The former Banten Police Chief is convinced that Indonesia, with the spirit of unity and oneness among all elements of the nation, will be able to face all existing challenges.
