Police Chief States Peak Return Traffic Has Been Passed
“Overall, we see that the peak of the return traffic has already been passed, with only 13.07 percent remaining that we must handle,” said Sigit. In a press conference observed from Jakarta on Saturday, Sigit stated that the peak return traffic has been passed after presenting data from PT Jasa Marga (Persero). Based on Jasa Marga data, the number of vehicles exiting Jakarta was recorded at 2,946,891 vehicles. Meanwhile, vehicles entering Jakarta up to Saturday morning were recorded at 2,561,629 vehicles. “Thus, there are still 385,262 vehicles remaining, or 13.07 percent,” he said. Therefore, he stated that the Indonesian National Police, together with relevant stakeholders, will continue to ensure the safety and comfort for travellers, even though the peak return traffic has been passed. “Hopefully, we can continue to maintain and manage all this, so that the entire community undertaking mudik and return journeys can enjoy their travels and arrive home safely,” he said.
