Police Chief Rotates Hundreds of Officers: Nine Provincial Police Chiefs Replaced
Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has carried out a rotation and mutation of several high- and mid-level officers. In this mutation, nine provincial police chiefs have been replaced.
The mutation is contained in Police Chief Telegram Number: ST/960/V/KEP./2026 regarding Dismissal from and Appointment to Positions within the National Police, signed on 7 May 2026.
In the Police Chief’s decision, the nine replaced provincial police chiefs include West Sumatra’s Irjen Gatot Tri Suryantana, who has been mutated to a high-ranking officer at the Police Education and Training Centre.
North Kalimantan’s Irjen Djati Wiyoto has been appointed as West Sumatra’s provincial police chief. Head of the Professional Standards Division’s Education and Training Centre Brigjen Agus Wijayanto has been designated as North Kalimantan’s provincial police chief.
West Java’s Irjen Rudi Setiawan has been mutated to a high-ranking officer at National Police Criminal Investigation Agency. West Kalimantan’s Irjen Pipit replaces Irjen Rudi as West Java’s provincial police chief.
Irjen Alberd Teddy Benhard Sianipar has then been appointed as West Kalimantan’s provincial police chief, filling the position left by Irjen Pipit.
North Maluku’s Irjen Waris Agono has been mutated to a high-ranking officer at North Maluku Regional Police. Deputy Commander of Mobile Brigade Corps II Brigjen Arif Budiman has been appointed as North Maluku’s provincial police chief.
Additionally, West Nusa Tenggara’s Irjen Edy Murbowo has also been mutated to a high-ranking officer at West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police. Chief of Community Guidance of the Water and Air Police Corps Irjen Kalingga Rendra Raharja has been appointed as West Nusa Tenggara’s provincial police chief.
Bengkulu’s Irjen Mardiyono has been designated as Chief of Community Guidance of the Water and Air Police Corps. Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency’s Intelligence and Security Division Brigjen Yudhi Sulistianto Wahid has been appointed as Bengkulu’s provincial police chief.
Sulawesi Tenggara’s Irjen Didik Agung Widjanarko has been mutated to a high-ranking officer at Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police. Director of Cybercrime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency Brigjen Himawan Bayu Aji has been designated as Southeast Sulawesi’s provincial police chief.
Central Sulawesi’s Irjen Endi Sutendi has also been mutated to a high-ranking officer at Central Sulawesi Regional Police. Deputy Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police Brigjen Nasri has been appointed as Central Sulawesi’s provincial police chief.
Meanwhile, Police Public Relations Division Chief Irjen Johnny Eddizon Isir stated that job mutations are part of the career development process and organisational strengthening within the National Police.
“Job mutations and rotations are a natural aspect of the National Police organisation. This is part of career development, organisational refreshment, and efforts to enhance personnel professionalism in facing increasingly dynamic challenges,” Isir said in a written statement.
He added that position changes within the National Police are also expected to strengthen the implementation of service, protection, and guidance duties to the public.
“The National Police continues to commit to leadership regeneration and organisational strengthening to become more adaptive, professional, and capable of providing the best service to the public,” he stated.
In addition to the replacement of nine provincial police chiefs in various regions, several high-ranking officers have also undergone rotation and mutation of positions.
