Police Chief Reveals Prioritisation of 4 Smart City Concepts in Mapolda DIY Development

General Sigit presented the first smart city concept as the Data-Driven Policing Hub. Mapolda DIY will serve as a police control centre utilising real-time data. “A police control centre that uses data from various sources in real-time to assist in making quick, accurate, and fact-based decisions,” said General Sigit on Sunday (3/5/2026). Additionally, there is the Social Listening & Sentiment Intelligence System. With this system, the police can monitor and understand public opinions and sentiments. “A system to monitor and understand public opinions and sentiments, particularly from social media, so that the police can respond to issues more quickly and accurately,” he said. Next is the Cyber Security Defense Center, a digital protection hub. This system functions to safeguard against cyber attacks and other digital crimes. “A digital protection hub tasked with safeguarding systems and data from cyber attacks, such as hacking, online fraud, and other digital crimes,” he said. The final component is the Decision Intelligence and Knowledge System. This system functions to process data into knowledge to aid leaders in decision-making. “A system that processes data and experiences into knowledge, thereby helping leaders make smarter, more accurate, and sustainable decisions,” he said. The Police Chief stated that Mapolda is not merely a building but also encompasses functions adapted to the progress of the times. “So this is about how we build this Provincial Police not only as a building, but also how the functions within it are developed,” he said.
