Police Chief Renovates Home of Underprivileged Laundry Worker in Bogor

Tears of joy flowed at the home of Itoh (55), a laundry worker from Kampung Cibedug Tengah, Nagrak Village, Sukaraja District, Bogor Regency. She was overcome with emotion after her uninhabitable house was confirmed to receive assistance through the House Renovation Programme from National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. This humanitarian aid was channelled directly through a collaboration with the Indonesian Police Lovers Society (MPPI). Accompanied by her husband, Usman (56), a casual labourer, Itoh prostrated herself in gratitude before the aid representatives and local community leaders. “Thank you. May the Police Chief and everyone involved in helping renovate this house be granted abundant and blessed sustenance. Aamiin,” Itoh said with a trembling voice on Tuesday (14/7/2026). Local residents viewed the assistance from the top figure in the Bhayangkara Corps as a sweet reward for Itoh’s patience. For 37 years, she and her husband have lovingly cared for their special needs child, who has been disabled since birth, amidst economic hardship. Itoh admitted she was initially shocked when officers visited her home to conduct a physical survey of the building and immediately confirmed the construction would be completed. “Alhamdulillah, thank you God Almighty for this gift,” she expressed. The total renovation of Itoh’s family home is targeted for completion within the next two weeks so it can be occupied safely and comfortably. The handover moment was witnessed directly by the Head of RW 04 Nagrak Village, Kobir (45). The house renovation programme in Bogor Regency is a continuation of the Police Chief’s social commitment. Previously, in conjunction with the 80th Bhayangkara Day, the Indonesian National Police launched a similar programme simultaneously at 80 points for uninhabitable houses across Indonesia.
