JAKARTA - Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has ensured that all bus drivers and passengers in the Polri Precision Free Return Programme 2026 are in good health before departure. Under the programme, Polri is transporting 4,009 returnees using 81 buses, with primary destinations being Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Sigit stated that registrations for the free return were conducted over three days through Samsat at each district police office and were met with enthusiastic response from the public. In addition to driver checks, Polri is providing health services to passengers before departure to confirm they are fit for long journeys. On another note, Sigit revealed that the number of traffic accidents up to the sixth day of the return flow has seen a significant decline compared to the previous year. ‘Up to the sixth day, alhamdulillah, the number of traffic accidents reported to us has decreased by 40.91 per cent or 682 cases compared to Operation Ketupat last year 2025,’ he explained. He hopes this downward trend can be maintained until the return and reverse flows are complete. The Police Chief also assured that various support facilities have been prepared along the return routes, both on toll roads and arterial roads. These facilities include security posts, service posts, and integrated posts at rest areas equipped with health services, rest areas, and fuel filling stations. For emergency complaints, the public can contact the 110 service, which will directly connect to the nearest officers. Sigit hopes this year’s return organisation runs smoothly in line with the slogan ‘Safe Return, Happy Family’.
