National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has confirmed that the peak of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr return flow at Bakauheni Port, Lampung, has passed. Sigit stated that the number of vehicles that left Jakarta during the 2026 Eid period reached 2,946,891 units. “This figure is up by around 20.49 percent compared to normal conditions and increased by 1.82 percent from the 2025 Eid period,” he said at Bakauheni Port on Saturday (28/3). As of Saturday morning, 2,561,629 vehicles had returned to Jakarta, leaving 385,262 units or about 13.07 percent still to return. “Thus, the peak of the 2026 Eid return flow has passed, and only about 13 percent remains to be handled,” he added. Sigit assured that the police, along with all stakeholders, will continue to monitor the remaining returnees to ensure the process runs smoothly and safely until completion. “Hopefully, we can maintain this, so all citizens who travelled for Eid can enjoy a safe journey home,” he said. Furthermore, Sigit noted that this year’s Eid outbound and return flows at Bakauheni Port proceeded smoothly due to the implementation of several schemes, including the delaying system, buffer zones, and ship ticket checks. “Both the outbound and return Eid flows were well managed, and the situation remained under control in a normal or green status,” he said.
