Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, outlined the efforts of President Prabowo Subianto and the Indonesian Government to resolve global conflicts at a Ramadhan gathering at Polda West Java, Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday.

According to an official statement, the Police Chief began by commenting on the current global situation, which is not going well following an escalation of conflict between Iran and the United States (US) and Israel.

In the effort to resolve the conflicts, he said the Indonesian government continues to actively strive to achieve peace.

‘The president discusses daily with several countries in both Southeast Asia and the Middle East to discuss how the heated global escalation can be brought under control,’ he said.

In addition, he continued, President Prabowo also continues to consolidate and receive input from various parties regarding the situation and mitigation efforts.

Therefore, he urged all parties to work together to support government programmes, especially relating to food and energy resilience, amidst the warming global situation.

‘On one hand, we are facing escalation and its impacts which, if not well managed, will certainly affect the economy, and if not guarded, could lead to social issues,’ he said.
