Police Chief orders personnel to anticipate extreme weather during Lebaran return flow

Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has instructed all his subordinates to anticipate extreme weather that may occur during the Lebaran return flow. Anticipatory measures must be taken, especially in eastern regions and crossing points vulnerable to bad weather. “We ask all members to thoroughly prepare themselves to face any adverse weather, particularly in crossing areas,” Sigit said after inspecting the tourism centre and Lebaran return flow preparations at the ITDC Command Centre, Nusa Dua, Bali, on Tuesday. In a press release received in Jakarta, Sigit explained that weather mitigation efforts could facilitate officers in engineering and managing traffic during the return flow. “The engineering and management can also be improved to avoid unwanted incidents due to extreme weather,” he added. Sigit also instructed all ranks to provide optimal services to the public currently holidaying at tourist spots during the Lebaran break. He further requested his personnel to enhance security at several tourist location points as the number of tourists has begun to increase. Several tourist spots where visitor numbers are starting to rise include Bali, Yogyakarta, Pangandaran, Cianjur, and Puncak. With appropriate anticipatory steps for extreme weather and increased security, Listyo is confident that the return flow and Lebaran holiday moments will proceed safely and conducive.
