Police Chief Meets Attorney General, Affirms No Issues Between Institutions

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo met Attorney General ST Burhanuddin at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta. General Sigit affirmed that there are no problems between the National Police (Polri) and the Attorney General’s Office.

“What I can assure you here, especially as we are gathered together with the Attorney General and all the senior officials of Adhiyaksa, accompanied by my Deputy Chief and the senior officials of National Police Headquarters, is that we are mutually agreed and will convey to all our ranks that there are no problems between the two institutions,” the Police Chief said at the Attorney General’s Office on Monday (13/7/2026).

General Sigit said Polri and the Attorney General’s Office had agreed to continue strengthening ties. According to him, the outcome of the meeting with the Attorney General would also be followed up by their ranks at provincial and district levels.

“Because we are aware that there are many government programme agendas that we must protect and oversee, because all of these are certainly our shared hope of becoming programmes that benefit the public and make Indonesia far better, and of course that is determined by stronger solidarity and synergy,” said the Police Chief.

“Once again, there have never been any problems between the Prosecution Service and the Police,” he added.

Echoing the Police Chief, the Attorney General also stressed that his office would continue to work in synergy with Polri. According to him, the Attorney General’s Office and the police share the same goal of serving the public.

“We are one united entity, our aim is to provide a sense of security in society, to provide a sense of presence in society. We share the same purpose and we cannot be separated,” he asserted.
