Police Chief Leads Ojol and Labour Rally in South Sumatra, Commitment to Maintaining Public Order and Safety

Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo led an ojol and kamtibmas workers rally titled ‘Nyago Bumi Sriwijaya Aman Bae’ in Palembang, South Sumatra. During the event, online motorcycle taxi drivers and kamtibmas workers declared a joint commitment to support the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in maintaining public order and safety in South Sumatra. The rally was held at Stadion Bumi Sriwijaya, Palembang, on Sunday, 8 March 2026. The programme began with the singing of Indonesia Raya and a guard of honour. Thereafter, the parade commander delivered a report to the Police Chief as the head of the drill. The ojol drivers and kamtibmas workers then read a declaration containing three points: (1) readiness to support Polri’s duties in maintaining kamtibmas in South Sumatra; (2) readiness to be pioneers of traffic safety and to comply with all applicable laws; (3) readiness to safeguard unity and oppose any actions that could divide society. After the declaration was read, the Police Chief addressed all attendees. The event closed with a group photograph of the Police Chief with all participants. The Police Chief also symbolically handed out social assistance (bansos) to representatives of the ojol drivers and kamtibmas workers, with a total of 5,010 packages prepared. Attendees included 2,500 ojol drivers and 2,500 kamtibmas workers. The Police Chief was accompanied by Kabaintelkam Polri, Komjen Yuda Gustawan; Dankor Brimob Polri, Komjen Ramdani Hidayat; As SDM Kapolri, Irjen Pol Anwar; Kadivhumas Polri, Irjen Johnny Eddizon Isir; and Karobinkar SSDM Polri, Brig Gen Langgeng Purnomo. Also present were the Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru, and Forkopimda Sumatra Selatan, including the Speaker of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD, Andie Dinialdie; the II/Sriwijaya Army Commander, Major General Ujang Darwis; the Prosecutor of South Sumatra, Ketut Sumedana; and the South Sumatra Police Chief, Irjen Sandi Nugroho.
