Police Chief Instructs Personnel to Provide Optimal Services During Eid Prayers
Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has instructed all Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel to provide security and optimal services as the public performs Eid al-Fitr (Eid) prayers throughout Indonesia. “Tomorrow, Eid prayer activities will be carried out across all regions in Indonesia. Following that, there will naturally be traditions such as halal bihalal and subsequent activities that we must secure,” said Sigit while conducting monitoring of Lebaran Takbiran night security at the Integrated Post in Merdeka Field of the Medan Police Headquarters, North Sumatra, on Friday night. Additionally, Sigit stated that Polri and related stakeholders have prepared for the peak of the Lebaran return flow. It is predicted to occur on 24-25 March 2026, with the second wave on 28-29 March 2026. “Various efforts have certainly been undertaken, starting from implementing odd-even restrictions, contraflow, followed by local one-way and national one-way systems. All of this is done to address potential traffic jams,” Sigit remarked. Meanwhile, Sigit did not forget to urge all holiday returnees to prioritise safety. The Police Chief has conducted virtual monitoring of security and services for Takbiran night across Indonesia. On this occasion, Sigit assured that the entire series of Eid al-Fitr 2026 must proceed safely and conducive. “There may be a few things I need to convey: tonight until tomorrow, we are carrying out a series of activities. The first is the roaming takbir activities conducted throughout Indonesia, which we must secure, involving approximately 72,016 personnel,” said Sigit.
