Police Chief Inspects Bakauheni Port to Ensure Smooth Eid Return Flow
Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo visited the Eid 2026 return flow at Bakauheni Port, Lampung, this afternoon. The inspection was carried out to ensure the smooth movement of the second wave of homecomers crossing from Sumatra to Java.
The Police Chief arrived at the Integrated Post of Bakauheni Port, Lampung, on Saturday (28/3/2026) afternoon. Also present were Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi and National Traffic Corps Chief of Police Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho.
The arrival of the Police Chief and the Transportation Minister was welcomed by Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, Lampung Police Chief Inspector General Helfi Assegaf, and other local Forkopimda members. Also greeting them was ASDP President Director Heru Widodo and all stakeholders at Bakauheni Port.
After receiving the latest situation report at Bakauheni Port from the Lampung Police Chief, the Police Chief proceeded directly to the vehicle waiting area. There, they took the opportunity to greet and distribute packages to the homecomers queuing to enter the pier.
The inspection then continued to the Health Post, the Departure Terminal, and the Onboard Waiting Room at Pier 2. The Police Chief also inspected the Brimob SAR Alert Post, the Polairud SAR Security Post, and Basarnas. These posts are equipped with various facilities to serve and ensure the safety of all homecomers.
To prevent vehicle build-up in the port area, the Police have prepared several buffer zones on the route to Bakauheni, specifically at KM 20B, KM 33B, and KM 49B. This scheme is implemented to make the flow of vehicles entering the pier more orderly.
Based on operational data at Pier 2, several large ships have been prepared to transport thousands of passengers and vehicles. Some of them are KMP Caitlyn 7, KMP Munic, KMP Rapurda Jaya, and KMP Tribuana.
The Police Chief stated that this inspection is to ensure that all service facilities, from waiting rooms to ship readiness, are truly maximal in serving the public returning from homecoming.
This inspection was carried out by the Police Chief during the Enhanced Routine Activities (KRYD) period. Although Operation Ketupat 2026 ended on Thursday (26/3), the Police Chief continued the operation with KRYD to ensure all homecomers arrive home safely in line with the 2026 homecoming tagline ‘Safe Homecoming, Happy Family’.
