Police Chief Emphasises National Unity and Public Order at Joint Iftar with KSBSI

Jakarta – National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attended a joint iftar dinner hosted by the All-Indonesia Labour Union Confederation (KSBSI) at the Tribrata Building in South Jakarta on Sunday, 1 March 2026.

Sigit described the joint iftar gathering as a platform to further strengthen relations established between the labour union and the National Police, particularly through the Labour Desk.

On the occasion, Sigit emphasised the importance of synergy among all labour elements, including KSBSI, to maintain national unity and cohesion as well as to preserve public order and security (Kamtibmas).

“Stability of public order must be maintained because we cannot build nor achieve growth without security stability, as this is our primary asset,” said Sigit.

Sigit then addressed the increasingly unfavourable global situation. According to him, such conditions have the potential to trigger global tensions that could impact the domestic situation.

Therefore, said Sigit, cooperation from all parties is needed to maintain economic growth within the country.

“One way is by promoting a conducive investment climate for both foreign and domestic investors. This forms part of our ongoing efforts to maintain economic growth and advance the President’s Asta Cita programme,” said Sigit.

Furthermore, Sigit also assured the police force’s continued commitment to supporting and guiding labour elements in fighting for their rights. Most importantly, said Sigit, this must be done within the framework of national unity and cohesion.

“We entrust that all matters proceed constructively, so that we can continue to protect and, most importantly, manage and preserve national unity and cohesion amid the global situation,” said Sigit.
