Police Chief Confirms Disaster Response Task Force Readiness to Ensure Mudik 2026 Is Safe
Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo revealed the preparedness of the Disaster Response Task Force for the 2026 mudik (homecoming) exodus. He stressed that the Task Force’s service is prioritised for the public. The Disaster Response Task Force comprises BNPB, Basarnas, the police, and the military, including Brimob. General Sigit assured that the Task Force will move quickly to anticipate any eventualities during the mudik period. ‘Preparations of the Disaster Response System that have been deployed, by colleagues in BNPB, at regional Basarnas, and from Forestry, Polri, TNI, Brimob. And each of them we check one by one to ensure the quality of our service,’ Sigit said after the ojol (online motorcycle taxi) and kamtibmas workers’ parade at the Bumi Sriwijaya Stadium, Palembang, South Sumatra (Sumsel), Sunday (8/3/2026).
He said the implementation of mudik 2026 is also guaranteed to be safe. Weather will be one of the factors that Satgas will anticipate.
‘Because in addition to we must provide services to the community undertaking mudik, the weather must of course be something we consider, and the readiness of all colleagues to move quickly to respond to disasters,’ he said.
General Sigit confirmed that the Disaster Response Task Force is ready to guard the Idul Fitri 2026 mudik. He is committed that this year’s mudik will run safely and happily.
‘These days I see everyone is ready. And hopefully this can provide the best service for the community, especially in the month of Ramadan,’ he said.
‘And hopefully what we have hoped for, colleagues, the people can mudik, meet family in safe and happy conditions,’ he concluded.
