Police Chief Checks Readiness of Facilities and Personnel for Disasters Ahead of Mudik
JAKARTA, Indonesia – Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo checked the readiness of facilities, infrastructure, and personnel to face potential natural disasters and to ensure smooth Mudik traffic during Lebaran 2026. The check was carried out in person immediately after the online motorcycle taxi (ojol) and public order maintenance officers’ rally Nyago Bumi Sriwijaya Aman Bae at the Bumi Sriwijaya Stadium, Palembang, South Sumatra on Sunday, 8 March 2026. ‘Earlier we checked one by one to ensure service quality, because besides that, we must deliver public service to those who will be undertaking Mudik,’ he said, quoted by Antara. Therefore, he instructed all units to remain on standby or be ready to respond to disasters. ‘Weather will certainly be a factor to watch, and the readiness of all colleagues to move quickly to respond to disasters,’ he added. In the checks, the Police Chief said his ranks were ready to provide the best service to the community. With thorough preparation, it is hoped that travellers can feel safe and comfortable on the journey. ‘Hopefully this can provide the best service for the public, especially during Ramadan, and may what we hope for, colleagues and the public, be able to Mudik to reunite with family in a safe and happy condition,’ he said.
