Depok - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo described the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) as his elite force of pride because it can be relied upon to face various escalations of threats, both at the national and global levels.

Sigit conveyed this during a roll call and briefing at the Brimob Police Headquarters Field in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

“Of course, I am also very pleased to meet face-to-face with all members of my elite force of pride,” said the Police Chief in front of 7,000 Brimob personnel on Tuesday.

He assessed that the presence of thousands of personnel demonstrated the readiness and solidity of the force in carrying out its duties.

Sigit also reminded all Brimob personnel to continue monitoring global dynamics, particularly geopolitical conflicts that have the potential to impact domestically.

He alluded to the conflict between Israel and Iran, which involves major countries and affects the Middle East region.

According to him, the escalation of this conflict not only causes casualties and damage to public facilities but also disrupts the global energy sector, including strategic routes in the Strait of Hormuz.

“Thus, this impacts the energy situation, especially since nearly 20 percent passes through the Strait of Hormuz, and it affects the global energy situation,” Sigit assessed.

This condition, he continued, can trigger global economic pressures, including in Indonesia, which will lead to increases in energy prices such as non-subsidised fuel (BBM) and LPG.

As a result, this situation has the potential to cause disruptions to public security and order (kamtibmas).

Therefore, Sigit asked all Brimob personnel to increase readiness through training, simulations, and strengthening cohesion in the field.

“And of course, evaluation, simulation, training, and cohesion among all members in the field will certainly be the key to our success in carrying out missions or tasks,” Sigit stressed.

He asked Brimob to continue to be present in humanitarian operations, such as handling natural disasters and forest and land fires (karhutla).

The Police Chief also appreciated Brimob’s involvement in various operations, including disaster handling in several regions and the implementation of Operation Damai Cartenz.

At the end of his briefing, Sigit reminded the importance of maintaining internal solidarity as well as synergy with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and other partners.

“I entrust the Police institution on your shoulders. How you are in the field, how you are able to resolve all the challenges you face, this is part of how you maintain our institution to remain strong and standing, and I am confident that you all can do that,” he concluded.
