Police Chief Announces 1,376 Nutritional Service Units to Support Government's Free Nutritious Meal Programme
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, stated that the police force now has 1,376 Nutritional Service Units (SPPG) to support the government’s free nutritious meal programme.
This was conveyed by Sigit in his speech at the simultaneous corn harvest event and the groundbreaking ceremony for 10 Police food security warehouses, which was attended by President Prabowo Subianto, on Saturday (16 May 2026).
“In support of the free nutritious meal programme, we report that the Police have 1,376 SPPG units as of today,” Sigit said, as quoted from the Setpres YouTube broadcast on Saturday.
“If all of these SPPG units are operational, it is projected that they can benefit 3.44 million people and employ 68,000 workers,” he said.
Sigit said that in 2026, the Police are targeting the construction of 1,500 SPPG units spread across Indonesia.
“This is being done to expand the reach of nutritional services so that it can have a real impact on improving the health and welfare of the community,” he said.
Sigit ensured that all Police SPPG units implement strict food safety and hygiene standards.
According to him, the Police SPPG units have certificates for food handlers, certificates of hygienic sanitation, certificates of halal product guarantees, and even certificates for water laboratory tests.

The use of CNG is considered a strategic step for the Police in supporting the more efficient, safe and environmentally friendly operation of the SPPG.
