The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) held a national gathering of Islamic organisations and an Eid al-Fitr halal bihalal. TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto and Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attended the event. The event took place at the Sultan Hotel in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/4/2026). The Commander and Police Chief were seen sitting side by side. In addition, MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani, Cooperatives Minister Ferry Juliantono, and representatives of ambassadors were present. Committee Chairman Muhammad Zaitun Rasmin stated that the event was attended by approximately 1,000 participants from various sectors. They consisted of national-level Islamic organisations, Islamic youth organisations (OKP), pesantren, ulama, as well as community and national figures. “There are more than 1,000 central MUI officials, so halal bihalal is indeed very necessary for the large MUI official family alone,” he said in his remarks. He added that the event was also attended by officials from various state institutions, both executive, legislative, and judicial. Not only that, he said the event was also attended by MUI partners and ambassadors and diplomats from Islamic countries as invited guests. The theme of the event was “United in Brotherhood for Justice and World Peace”. He stated that the theme was chosen as a response to the current conditions facing the Muslim world amid various global challenges. “This theme was chosen and has been deliberated several times by the steering team because it stems from deep concern over what has happened recently, especially in the Muslim world over the last few months,” he explained.
