Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo directly inspected the Eid return traffic situation at Yogyakarta Station or Stasiun Tugu Jogja on Wednesday (18/3) night. During this visit, the Police Chief was accompanied by the Governor of DIY Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X.

Observations from detikJogja showed that Listyo, the Sultan, and their entourage arrived at Stasiun Tugu around 20:45 WIB. They were welcomed by the DIY Forkopimda officials who had been waiting at the station, such as Yogyakarta Mayor Hasto Wardoyo.

Upon arriving at the station, the group took the time to greet passengers while distributing gift packages. Listyo and the Sultan also reviewed the readiness of the station and the police in handling the Eid return period.

“We just inspected several points that are service centres or service hubs in connection with the implementation of Operation Ketupat 2026, particularly for services at Yogyakarta Station,” said Listyo after the inspection on Wednesday (18/3/2026) night.

Listyo stated that from the reports he received, the peak of the return traffic for train arrivals in Jogja up to today reached 54-55,000 passengers. Meanwhile, today’s passenger arrivals reached 11,000 passengers.

“Then for the return, it is predicted to occur on 28 and 29 March. Overall, we saw that seat availability is up to 45,000,” Listyo revealed.

Listyo also inspected various facilities at the station, including monitoring the checking area for train drivers who will carry out their duties. The checks were conducted to ensure that the drivers are in good health while on duty.

“Overall, it was reported that the situation at Yogyakarta Station is relatively safe, with no significant complaints,” Listyo concluded.
