Police busy with robberies

JAKARTA: The police are busy investigating three separate robberies that took place during the wee hours of Monday in South Jakarta and Central Jakarta. One victim was injured while trying to stop the robbers.

Abdul Haq of Gandaria Utara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, suffered an injury to his head when he resisted two armed men who broke into his home and fled with Rp 5 million (US$588).

Abdul was admitted to Fatmawati General Hospital for treatment.

In Pasar Manggis, Manggarai, South Jakarta, eight motorcyclists carrying guns broke and entered a house belonging to Susana, 47, restrained her and stole a minivan.

Separately in Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, six men broke into the house of Jafet Bastian, 31, and stole a camera worth about Rp 4 million. -- JP
