Police have dismantled a drug distribution operation in Teluknaga, Tangerang Regency, Banten, successfully apprehending one suspected drug dealer.

Tangerang City Metro Police Chief Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari said the case was uncovered by officers from the Pakuhaji Sector Police. The raid was conducted at a house in Kampung Bojong Renged on Saturday (14 February).

“The operation was carried out on Saturday morning, 14 February 2026, at a house in Kampung Bojong Renged, Teluknaga District, Tangerang Regency,” Jauhari told reporters on Saturday (21 February 2026).

Jauhari stated that combating narcotics remains a top priority in safeguarding national security and protecting the younger generation. He said his office would not tolerate any drug distribution activity in the area.

“We will not give any room to narcotics distributors. Whether they are dealers or users, all will be processed in accordance with prevailing law,” Jauhari said.

Pakuhaji Sector Police Chief Adjunct Commissioner Prapto Lasono explained that the case originated from a community tip-off regarding suspected narcotics abuse at the location. Acting on the information, the Criminal Investigation Unit of Pakuhaji Sector Police, led by Unit Chief Inspector Arqi Afiandi, immediately launched an investigation.

“During the raid, officers found four men inside the house — ZM (43), MR (25), MA (23) and MF (24),” Prapto explained.

He said the search uncovered five plastic clip packets containing white crystals suspected to be methamphetamine with a gross weight of 2.55 grammes. Officers also seized five mobile phones, three wallets, one smoking device (bong) and one modified lighter as evidence.

“Preliminary laboratory results confirmed that the evidence tested positive for methamphetamine,” Prapto said.

Prapto further explained that based on initial questioning, ZM is suspected of being the owner and supplier of the seized substances — effectively the dealer — whilst the other three were users. ZM allegedly obtained the methamphetamine from another dealer identified only as S, who remains a fugitive.

ZM has been charged under Article 114 Paragraph (1) of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics and/or Article 609 Paragraph (1) Letter (a) of the new Criminal Code (Law No. 1 of 2023), with applicable criminal penalties. The three other individuals detained as users will undergo assessment for rehabilitation in accordance with prevailing legislation.

“We will continue to develop the case to uncover the network above and hunt down the fugitive involved in this distribution ring,” Prapto added.
