North Jakarta Metro Police have uncovered a home industry producing the narcotics type known as happy water operating in two apartments in the North Jakarta area.

Four individuals with initials MRA, AS, A, and MR have been named as suspects.

The Head of Narcotics Unit of North Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Ari Galang Saputra, stated that the bust took place on Friday (8/5/2026) around 01:00 WIB, and the case was developed to four different locations.

He explained that the first and second locations were in the same apartment complex but different towers.

From these two locations, police discovered happy water production activities along with manufacturing equipment.

“It is produced in the apartment. We found the storage in one house in the North Jakarta area. So after they produce it in that apartment, once the goods are finished, they are immediately taken to the house to be prepared for distribution,” he said.

From the apartment locations, police found raw materials for making happy water, including a blender, gloves, clip plastics, empty clip plastics, paper bags, and empty packaging of various brands.

Meanwhile, from the house used as a storage site, police found 1,156 happy water units of various brands, including LV and Gucci, as well as around 100 grams of methamphetamine-type narcotics.

Galang revealed that the happy water home industry had been operating for about two months.

Galang added that one individual with initials KO, who is said to be the supplier of raw materials, is still being pursued by the police.

Currently, the four suspects have been detained for further investigation.

“Anyone who without rights or unlawfully offers for sale, sells, buys, receives, acts as an intermediary in buying and selling, exchanges, or hands over category one narcotics weighing more than 5 grams shall be sentenced to death, life imprisonment, or a minimum of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison,” he added.
