Police Bring Pink Suitcase to AGO: Corruption Case Handover for Former Junior Attorney General

Investigators from the Metro Jaya Police’s Special Criminal Investigation Directorate and the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps visited the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Tuesday (14/7). Upon arrival, the investigators, wearing their investigation jackets, were seen carrying a pink suitcase directly into the building. The Deputy Director of Asset Tracing and Security from the Corruption Eradication Corps, Commissioner Ahmad Sulaiman, was also present at the location. The Head of the AGO’s Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, confirmed the visit was part of the administrative handover process for a corruption and money laundering case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah. The Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps had previously transferred the handling of three cases to the AGO after naming two suspects: private sector individual Don Ritto and Febrie Adriansyah. Don Ritto is suspected of money laundering originating from corruption, while Febrie is suspected of involvement in corruption and money laundering related to the handling of state officials in the PT Asabri case and other corruption matters. The AGO stated it will form a special team to handle Febrie’s case to minimise conflicts of interest and will involve the Corruption Eradication Commission to provide supervision, ensuring the entire process is transparent and professional.
