Police Bolster Tourist Security at Kali Adem En Route to Seribu Islands
Personnel from the Sunda Kelapa Port Police Sector, Tanjung Priok Port Police, have increased service and security for tourists heading to the Seribu Islands. Police are also educating tourists on safety awareness during the crossing.
This security enhancement is being carried out at the Transportation Agency Pier at Kali Adem, Muara Angke Port, to provide a sense of safety, comfort, and the best service to the public travelling to the Seribu Islands. The area was quite busy with tourists waiting to cross to the islands today.
The operation involved four personnel stationed at several strategic points to ensure the smooth flow of tourists towards the Seribu Islands. Officers from the Sunda Kelapa Port Police Sector managed traffic flow from the entrance of the Muara Angke area to the Kali Adem Pier. Additionally, officers provided service and security, and supervised the inspection of tickets and luggage for tourists entering the pier area.
As a form of humanistic service, officers urged tourists to always prioritise safety during the journey by wearing life jackets, supervising children, not smoking on board the vessels, and complying with all shipping safety regulations to ensure a safe journey until arrival at the destination.
Police also provided direction to ship captains and crew to ensure all safety equipment is in good condition and ready for use. Captains were also instructed not to carry passengers exceeding the vessel’s capacity, not to use drugs, and to avoid all forms of online gambling activities to ensure safety and order during the voyage.
As a service to the community, Sunda Kelapa Port Police Sector personnel also assisted tourists when boarding the vessels so that the departure process could proceed in an orderly, safe, and smooth manner.
