Police Bolster Preventive Measures in Response to National Security Concerns

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has confirmed it is continuously strengthening preventive measures to maintain national security, ensuring that public activities and the national economy continue to run safely and smoothly. “Polri continues to carry out routine patrols, strengthen intelligence activities, early detection, secure vital national objects, conduct cyber patrols, and coordinate with local governments, business actors, and all other stakeholders,” said Head of the Public Relations Division of Polri, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Monday. The statement was made in response to increasing public attention on the strengthening of security systems in business districts, shopping centres, industrial estates, and other vital national objects in Jakarta and other regions. Johnny explained that the anticipatory measures are carried out in layers, involving all territorial units from the National Headquarters, regional police, resort police, down to sector police. In addition, Polri continuously monitors the situation in real time through various systems, including the Daily Operational Reporting System (DORS), which is used to monitor public security and order conditions throughout Indonesia. Based on DORS data, Johnny stated that the security situation remains generally under control and there have been no significant incidents impacting national security stability. “There have been no significant incidents that have impacted national security stability. All personnel in the field are also carrying out maximum preventive measures,” he said. He also urged the public not to be easily influenced by unverified information, especially narratives that have the potential to cause unrest. According to him, Polri will continue to maintain security and ensure that all public activities proceed safely, orderly, and smoothly. “Experience from various past events serves as a lesson for all parties to strengthen prevention and early detection efforts. Therefore, we ensure that any potential disturbance will be handled quickly, precisely, and professionally so that the conducive situation can be continuously maintained,” Johnny said.
