Police Bolster Preventive Measures in Response to National Security Concerns
The Indonesian National Police (Polri) have affirmed that they will continue to strengthen preventive measures to safeguard national security, so that public activity and the national economy can continue to run safely and smoothly.
“Polri continues to carry out routine patrols, intensify intelligence activities, early detection, the safeguarding of vital national assets, cyber patrols, and coordination with regional governments, business actors, and all other stakeholders,” said Head of the Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Monday.
The statement was issued amid growing public attention to the reinforcement of security systems in business districts, shopping centres, industrial areas, and vital national assets in Jakarta and other regions.
Johnny explained that anticipatory measures are being taken in layers, involving all territorial units, from the National Police Headquarters down to regional police, district police, and sectoral police stations.
In addition, Polri continuously monitors the situation in real time through various systems, including the Daily Operational Reporting System (DORS), which is used to monitor security and public order conditions across Indonesia.
According to DORS data, Johnny said, the overall security situation remains under control, with no notable incidents affecting national security stability.
“There have been no significant incidents with an impact on national security stability. All personnel in the field are also continuing to carry out preventive measures to the fullest extent,” he said.
He also urged the public not to be easily swayed by unverified information, particularly narratives that could provoke unrest.
According to him, Polri will continue to maintain security and ensure that all public activities proceed safely, orderly, and smoothly.
“Experience from various past events serves as a lesson for all parties to strengthen prevention and early detection efforts. Therefore, we are ensuring that every potential disturbance will be handled swiftly, precisely, and professionally, so that a conducive situation can be maintained,” Johnny said.
