Polda Metro Jaya has blocked five bank accounts in the case of alleged fraud and embezzlement of umrah travel funds by PT Khazanah Tamma Internasional, also known as Hanania Group. Of the five blocked accounts, three belong to the company, whilst the other two are personal accounts. “Investigators have now blocked three company accounts under the name Khazanah Tamma Internasional, as well as two personal accounts,” said Kompol Andaru Rahutomo, Head of the Public Information Subdivision of Polda Metro Jaya’s Public Relations Division, to reporters on Wednesday (1/7). Investigators have also coordinated with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) to trace the flow of funds from Hanania Travel. Andaru added that investigators have examined a total of 124 witnesses, including a legal representative for the 1,430 victims in this case. “To date, 124 witnesses have been examined, including victims, employees, vendors, and influencers, as well as one legal representative for the 1,430 victims,” he said. Police previously named Ahmad Syah Farhan, the President Director of PT Khazanah Tamma Internasional or Hanania Group, as a suspect in the case of alleged fraud and embezzlement of umrah travel funds on Friday (29/5). Farhan has now been detained. In this case, Farhan is charged under Article 492 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and/or Article 486 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 607 of the Criminal Code. Preliminary investigations revealed that money deposited by prospective pilgrims was used for purposes unrelated to the departure process. The funds were also used by the suspect to pay a number of influencers to promote the umrah packages. Several influencers and celebrities are known to have been questioned in this case, including Keanu Angelo, the couple Thariq Halilintar and Aaliyah Massaid, the couple Roger Danuarta and Cut Meyriska, Paula Verhoeven, Praz Teguh, and Karin Novilda, also known as Awkarin.
