Police: 'Bang Jago' Who Assaulted Motorcyclist in South Jakarta Tests Positive for Methamphetamine

Police have confirmed that FRS (37), a Kawasaki Ninja rider who assaulted another motorcyclist in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, tested positive for methamphetamine. The suspect is currently being held for further investigation. “That’s correct. We have conducted a urine test and he tested positive for drug use. The type is methamphetamine,” said Jagakarsa Police Chief Kompol Nurma Dewi to reporters at the South Jakarta Metro Police station on Monday (6/7/2026). Police are now working to trace the supply chain and determine where the suspect purchased the narcotics. Nurma stated that investigators will be summoning several parties for questioning. “That’s right. This is currently under development. We are investigating where he claimed to have bought it,” she said. “We will certainly take statements from his family, the location, and anyone else involved,” she added. The assault occurred on Saturday (4/7) at 11:30 AM Western Indonesia Time. The incident began when the victim felt his motorcycle being hit several times by the suspect’s vehicle. The victim reprimanded the suspect, but instead of apologising, the suspect became enraged and repeatedly punched the victim. “However, instead of apologising, the perpetrator assaulted the victim,” she explained. The suspect struck the victim with his bare fists. “Initially, the perpetrator carried out the act by punching the victim with his bare, clenched fists several times, striking the left side of the jaw,” Nurma said. As a result of the incident, the victim suffered bruising and pain on the left side of his jaw. The suspect was apprehended by officers conducting territorial observations on the main road in front of the Al-Wiqoyah Mosque and was taken to the Jagakarsa Police station.
