JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Polri has emphasised the ban for all its members on conducting live streams on social media while carrying out official duties.

The Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, Irjen Johnny Eddizon Isir, stated that the policy aims to safeguard professionalism and the institution’s image amid the widespread use of social media.

“Re-emphasising and reinforcing to Polri members to be prudent in utilising social media, to build and enhance collective awareness, maintain and improve image, credibility, and reputation in a responsible, professional, proportional, and procedural manner,” said Isir in his statement on Monday (4/5/2026).

The policy is implemented to ensure members remain focused on task execution, responsibilities, and service to the public.

“Then to build and enhance collective awareness of the positive aspects of social media, thereby increasing Polri’s productivity/performance through its units/functions by utilising social media platforms for public relations purposes under the coordination of the Polri Public Relations function,” explained Isir.

The post mentions that Polri members are prohibited from conducting live streams in any form during working hours.
