Police Ballistics Test on Stray Bullet That Penetrated a Resident's Home in Ciracas, East Jakarta

The incident occurred on Wednesday 20 May at about 09:50 local time when a stray bullet entered a resident’s living room in Jalan Nurul Hidayah, Kelapa Dua Wetan, Ciracas, East Jakarta. The homeowner was watching television when something fell, later identified as a bullet. There were no fatalities or injuries, though the bullet damaged the ceiling. Ciracas Police said the weapon that fired the bullet has not yet been identified and the case remains under investigation. Separately, the Ciracas Police Criminal Investigation Unit chief AKP Hotman Capandi said ballistic testing is still in progress. The test is being conducted by the National Police Forensic Laboratory (Puslabfor) at the Polri headquarters. Tests aim to determine the type of bullet and the weapon involved, with further information expected from Puslabfor. In addition to awaiting ballistic results, investigators are collecting statements from several witnesses at the scene.
