Police Assure Peaceful Eid al-Fitr Celebrations in Central Papua
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Police, through the Peace Cartenz-2026 Task Force, have assured that this year’s Eid al-Fitr celebrations proceeded smoothly in Central Papua.
In an official press release received in Jakarta on Sunday, it was explained that these security efforts were carried out by conducting patrols at several crowded locations.
“This security measure represents our commitment to ensuring that the community can perform their worship safely and reverently. The Police are present not only as guardians of security but also as partners to the community,” said the Head of Operations for Peace Cartenz-2026, Inspector General (Irjen) of Police Faizal Ramadhani in the press statement.
Faizal stated that the patrols conducted targeted several strategic points, including Sinak Market and Ar Rochim Mosque.
In addition to patrolling, Faizal said that his personnel also mingled with the community by directly interacting and joining the Eid al-Fitr prayers at those locations.
This effort was undertaken by the Police to provide a more humane approach, so that the local community feels safe with the presence of police members.
“A humane approach through security and direct involvement with the community is key to maintaining stability in public security and order. We want to ensure that the presence of the Police is truly felt to be beneficial by the community,” said the Deputy Head of Operations for Peace Cartenz-2026, Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga in the same press release.
Adarma continued that all community activities in Central Papua during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations ran safely and smoothly.
Adarma assured that his personnel would continue to stand guard at the locations to ensure the security and comfort of the community in their activities.
