Police arrest two with illegal guns

JAKARTA: Jakarta police have arrested two cafe visitors for alleged possession of illegal firearms on Monday.

The police spokesman Sr. Comr. Tjiptono revealed on Tuesday that they had received reports that one of the suspects, identified as VS, had aimed his pistol at a man while at a cafe in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, early this month.

According to Tjiptono, the man was threatened while trying to mediate in a argument between VS and another person at the cafe.

During the arrest on Monday at a a cafe in Senayan, Central Jakarta, the police also apprehended another person, identified as MY, who they allege had an unlicensed pistol in his possession. -- Antara
