Police Arrest Two Suspects in Alleged Kidnapping Case in Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Mobile Criminal Investigation Unit (Satresmob Bareskrim Polri) of the Indonesian National Police has acted upon a public report received through its dedicated channel, “Bang Resmob,” by arresting two suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping and unlawful detention of a man in Jakarta.
Head of Satresmob Bareskrim Polri, Commissioner Teuku Arsya Khadafi, stated on Sunday that his unit initially received a complaint regarding suspected acts of kidnapping, hostage-taking, and assault via “Bang Resmob” on May 14, 2026.
The police subsequently issued an investigation order based on the public report and visited Wijoyo Showroom Motor in Cakung District, East Jakarta, on the same date.
“The police then successfully located the victim, identified as RNA, who was being held captive on the second floor of Wijoyo Showroom Motor,” said Arsya.
In addition, he stated that the police arrested two suspects, identified by their initials AB and RN, and seized evidence, including three mobile phones.
“The police then handed over the victim, the suspects, and the evidence to the Cakung Police Precinct, the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police, and the Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police,” he said.
He added that the response to this case demonstrates the swift action taken by the police in addressing public complaints.
