Police Arrest Two Men Carrying Drugs in West Jakarta Operation

The West Jakarta Metro Police conducted patrols as part of the Berantas Jaya 2026 operation. Police arrested men found carrying crystal methamphetamine in Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

The Head of Samapta for the West Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Eko Adi Setiawan, said the operation was held to anticipate street crime. The activity took place between 00:30 and 03:00 WIB early this morning.

Police combed a number of main roads in the West Jakarta area. In addition to patrols, officers set up a stationary checkpoint in front of the Kapuk Sub-sector Police Station, Cengkareng, and inspected suspected motorcyclists.

As a result of the activity, according to Eko, officers detained two men. The first, a man with the initials S (46), was found carrying two small packets suspected to be crystal methamphetamine. Meanwhile, a man with the initials HP (26) was arrested after officers found three hard drug pills.

"All the suspected perpetrators along with the evidence have been secured and transferred to the Narcotics Unit of the West Jakarta Metro Police for further examination in accordance with applicable legal provisions," Eko said in his statement on Tuesday (7/7).

Eko added that the police will continue to intensify territorial patrols. Police will take firm action against perpetrators of crime.
