Police arrest two drug dealers in Sunter area

Jakarta — The Narcotics Unit of Tanjung Priok Port Police arrested two drug dealers distributing crystal methamphetamine and methamphetamine tablets on the edge of Jalan Danau Sunter Utara, Sunter Agung Village, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta.

“Both suspects, identified as LL (40) from Purwakarta and W (40) from Pekanbaru, were apprehended,” said AKP Trendy Habibi Ariyanto, Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit at Tanjung Priok Port Police, in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to him, officers seized two plastic packets containing crystal methamphetamine, one clear plastic packet containing methamphetamine tablets, and one mobile phone from both perpetrators.

“The arrest of both suspects was based on community information regarding illegal drug distribution activities involving crystal methamphetamine,” he said.

Police subsequently conducted an investigation and arrested the two suspects. Upon searching them, officers discovered two packets of crystal methamphetamine with a total gross weight of 0.97 grams and one clear plastic packet containing methamphetamine tablets.

During further interrogation, the perpetrators stated that the narcotics were intended to be delivered to an acquaintance identified as B (currently a fugitive).

The suspects and evidence were subsequently brought to Tanjung Priok Port Police for further processing. Officers will conduct laboratory testing of the narcotic evidence at the Forensic Laboratory Centre.

“We are also developing the investigation into the network and other perpetrators involved,” he said.
